The Sofia Police has launched an operation against road traffic injuries and violations of the traffic law in the area of the "Kazichane" district. This was stated to the media by Commissioner Stefan Totev - Deputy Head of the 5th Police Department in Sofia.
Since the start of the operation this evening, about 50 cars have been checked and as many more are yet to be checked. Violations have also been found, Totev said.
If the vehicle's design is modified, a fine of up to 5,000 leva may be imposed, said Commissioner Stefan Totev.
If the speed limit in a built-up area is exceeded by more than 50 km/h, the license is also revoked, as well as a high fine is imposed, he pointed out.
For prohibited drifting, the license is also revoked, and the fine is up to 3,000 leva. This year, several people have been punished for such violations.
