The leader of "Vazrazhdane" Kostadin Kostadinov reacted sharply to the lawsuit that PP-DB MP Manol Peykov filed against him over accusations of drinking alcohol in parliament. Through a post on Facebook, Kostadinov announced that he had filed a counter-suit and shared his unusual plan for disposing of the possible compensation.

"Yesterday I found out that Manol Peykov filed a lawsuit against me because I said that he came to parliament drunk. Now he forced me to file a counter-suit in response," Kostadinov wrote on the social network.

The leader of "Vazrazhdane" pointed out that Peykov's 9-page complaint attached a 69-page transcript of the parliament session, which contains three insults to him. According to Kostadinov, Peykov called him "the image of pure, unadulterated evil" during one of his speeches from the podium.

"Now Manol (cheers, Manol!) will have to prove in court that I am pure, unadulterated evil," the leader of "Vazrazhdane" commented ironically.

Kostadinov announced an ambitious plan for using the possible compensation from the court. "After I convict Peykov, and for a serious amount, I will donate half of it to the Sofia psychiatry so that it can take better care of the fallen alcoholics and drug addicts and prevent them from pursuing parliamentary careers," he said.

He plans to donate the second half of the money to the restoration of the monument to the Soviet army in Sofia. "And the other half I will donate to the restoration of the monument to the Soviet army. And then I will insist that the monument have a memorial plaque that it was restored with Manol Peykov's funds," he added.

The conflict between the two deputies has been going on for months. Manol Peykov has filed a lawsuit against Kostadinov for 50 thousand leva over accusations that he consumes alcohol in parliament. In a 78-page lawsuit, Peykov's lawyer claims that the deputy "does not consume alcohol, narcotics or other intoxicating substances" and is an "abstainer".

Earlier this year, Peykov threatened from the parliamentary rostrum to condemn Kostadinov and Tsoncho Ganev, stating: "I will condemn you, with the money I will buy two drones and send them to Ukraine."

Tsoncho Ganev also filed a counterclaim against Peykov for insults he received during parliamentary debates.
