The MP from the PP described the actions against the party as a “punitive action“ and stated that the coalition with the DB remains stable despite the differences surrounding the vote of no confidence.

“What is happening in Varna - our assessment is that it is an absolute change of legitimately elected power. After Kotsev's arrest, the Municipal Council is trying to elect another mayor the next day. This is a slight coup, carried out by people who are also elected.
He described what is happening as a punitive action.
„They absolutely oversalted the dish for us. A punitive action is currently underway against members of the PP and this is something that I hope Bulgarian society sees – the way European citizens see it. I am tired of being made a fool of – with manipulated records to arrest people at night in front of their families. This is an absolute joke“, commented Ivaylo Shotev from the PP.
According to him, the three topics that will be the basis of the vote of no confidence, prepared by the DB in the fall, are extremely important.
Shotev also commented on the request from the Minister of Health to the Minister of Finance to include in the budget the new children's hospital, whose value is almost 1 billion. leva - Asen Vassilev announced about it yesterday.
„If something cost 150 million, and suddenly becomes 1 billion - there must be either obvious changes to the project, or the price is greatly inflated. I don't know if it's exactly called corruption, but it's certainly an abuse of people's trust and public funds. It smells like corruption.“
The anti-corruption issue continues to be key for the PP, Shotev emphasized:
„The anti-corruption issue remains leading for us, despite the well-crafted actions that are being organized against us. They can't even make a single compromising statement like people.“
On the topic of relations between the PP and the DB, Shotev explained that there is a dialogue between the two formations and that the PP-DB coalition will survive:
„There is a dialogue going on, we communicate. I think we have a common goal and are moving in the same direction. Each part of the coalition has a different assessment of the risk on some issues. We are about to discuss the topic of the vote of no confidence - what exactly it will be.“
From his words it became clear that they are open to discussing the exact topic and that in the fall the PP and the DB will submit the vote together.
He specified that they are not offended by the DB for not supporting the vote of no confidence this week.
