Since 07:00 this morning, over 50 military personnel with 8 pieces of equipment have continued to fight the fire that spread last night at the Slivnitsa training center in the Sofia region. The activities are led by the commander of the 78th Support Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Nikolay Dalev. 26 military personnel with 6 pieces of equipment from the 78th Support Battalion are involved in extinguishing the fire today; 24 servicemen with 1 piece of equipment from the Communication and Information Support Battalion and 3 servicemen with 1 piece of equipment from the 38th Battalion for Nuclear, Chemical, Biological Protection and Ecology.
The fire broke out in the area of the town of Slivnitsa in the late afternoon of July 21 and, due to strong winds, grew and spread over a wide front, which also included the territory of the “Slivnitsa“ training center. Yesterday, 29 military personnel with 5 pieces of equipment participated in the extinguishing until late at night.
