Global warming makes it possible for a number of cities in Europe, and all over the world, to be visited during most of the year. However, there are those who hold records for sunny days in a year. There are 4 Spanish and 1 Italian cities in the TOP 5 of the ranking prepared by the specialized British site Holidu. With 280 hours of sunshine per month, the top two places are shared by Malaga and Alicante. Three hours less sun shines in Murcia. The Italian city of Catania ranks fourth with 274 hours of sunshine per month. The fifth place is the Spanish Seville.
Sofia occupies the 24th place in the ranking, constantly rising in the ranking. On average, there are 207 sunny hours per month in our country.
Among our neighbors, Athens has the highest number of sunny hours - 262 hours per month. This places the Greek capital in 10th position in the ranking. Just behind us in the 25th and 26th positions are Belgrade and Bucharest, respectively, with 203 and 202 hours of sunshine per month.
The ranking also shows how much it costs to stay overnight in each of the mentioned cities. For those who decide to visit the cities with the most hours of sunshine per month - Malaga and Alicante, the price is 135 EUR and 120 EUR respectively. In Murcia and Catania the prices are below 100 EUR per night - 93 and 96 EUR. Prices are given for Sofia from 100 EUR per night, and for Belgrade and Bucharest - 90 EUR.
