“Finding and forming personnel for the future of construction: Building tomorrow's world“ is the topic of today's conference, which will be held in Sofia Tech Park. It will examine the challenges and opportunities in
the development of personnel for the construction sector in Bulgaria. The event will focus on the significant shortage of skilled professionals in construction and offer a platform for the exchange of ideas and solutions, where important issues related to the state of the labor market, the demand for personnel and new technological trends will be addressed.
Data will be presented from an analysis prepared by the Institute of Market Economy, according to which it is clear that in 2024 the demand for construction workers has more than doubled, reaching 23,000 people. At the same time, the eighth-graders who start studying in the direction of "Architecture and Construction" are 1500 per year, but a very small part of them are realized in the construction sector.
The data show that the number of graduates from vocational high schools and higher schools is not sufficient to cover the growing demand for qualified personnel in construction, which highlights the need for increased cooperation between educational institutions, business and the state to attract and retain talent in the sector.
What are effective methods for attracting and retaining talent in the industry, as well as what is the role of digitization and new technologies in work processes, will be discussed by representatives of state institutions, higher education institutions, businesses and experts from various sectors.
