The son of a prominent prosecutor was caught in possession of about 50 kg of marijuana. The young man was detained in the village of Draka, and before the operation he was followed by forensic experts for a long time, Nova TV reported.
The arrested man is one of the three sons of the former head of the specialized prosecutor's office and former deputy appellate prosecutor Valentina Madzharova, who since 2024, after the closure of the special unit, returned to Burgas and continued working as an ordinary prosecutor.
The police operation is under the leadership of the Department for Counteracting and Distributing Drugs and the Burgas Police Department.
I.f. Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov has ordered the case to be transferred to the Varna prosecutor's office to ensure an impartial investigation.
The Varna prosecutor's office is expected to extend the man's detention for 72 days and ask the court to impose permanent arrest.
