Youths destroyed a parked car in Plovdiv and then took pictures with it. The owner of the car believes that he has become a victim of a new challenge on social networks, in which teenagers damage luxury cars by climbing on the hood and roof and jumping on the sheet metal parts, filming a clip and publishing it on TikTok. The vandalism in Plovdiv was captured by a security camera on the neighboring block, Nova TV reported.
The incident occurred on the night of September 5. The car was parked meters from the regional government building.
„On the morning of September 5, I found my car all in pieces – on the hood, on the soft roof. I was shocked. I played the camera recordings from my phone to see what happened. The footage shows 18-year-old boys approaching the car with glasses, one of them even staggering. My car was covered with a tarpaulin and they removed it. The most striking thing is that they climbed on it and started taking selfies. Later, both of them climbed onto the soft top. This is an unacceptable act,” said the car’s owner, Valentin Dimitrov.
His version is that this action was purposeful, although he does not define him as a conflicted person. He has filed a complaint and is waiting for action from the police.
The law enforcement agencies announced that the young people are being sought. According to their information, they have no criminal record so far.
„My appeal is to young people not to consume alcohol. These two were visibly drunk or drugged. Both parents and teachers have a role here,” Dimitrov added.
