During a specialized police operation against the production, possession and distribution of narcotics, carried out in the territory of Sofia, officers of the Department of Internal Affairs detained 103 people, Commissioner Stanislava Todorova, Deputy Head of the Third Directorate of the capital, announced at a briefing.

During the operation, various quantities of cocaine, marijuana, fentanyl, methamphetamine and ecstasy were seized, and 24 pre-trial and 46 rapid proceedings were initiated in a week.

Following a report of a man distributing narcotics in the territory of Sofia, officers of the Sixth Police Department established his identity and detained him.

On October 9, was stopped for inspection a car “Dacia Sorento“, driven by a 59-year-old man. In the car, the police found 17 bags of white powdery substance and a mobile phone. After a report of the materials at the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, the detainee was charged under Art. 354 A of the Criminal Code.

Following operational information, a woman was detained for distributing narcotics in the capital's Druzhba district. On October 10, around noon, officers of the Eighth Police Department detained a woman for whom a signal was received that she was distributing narcotics in the “Druzhba“ district. During the course of the procedural and investigative actions carried out in the apartment inhabited by her, a polyethylene bag containing plant matter, two bags with a brown powdery substance and numerous polyethylene balls containing a powdery substance and a working electronic scale were found.

On October 11, in the “Studentski Grad“ district, officers of the Seventh Police Department checked a 26-year-old criminally active man from Sliven. From him and his apartment, the police seized 15 self-adhesive bags with pink pills and several – containing a white powdery and crystalline substance, as well as a working electronic scale. The expert report showed that the substances were over 100 g of marijuana, 106 g of ecstasy, nearly 10 g of cocaine and about 7 g of methamphetamine.

The man was detained with a police measure for a period of up to 24 hours, and pre-trial proceedings were initiated in the case under Art. 354 A of the Criminal Code. After a report of the materials at the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, the 26-year-old was charged and a preventive measure of "detention in custody" was imposed for a period of up to 72 hours.

On October 14, after receiving information about young people distributing narcotics, officers of the Third Police Department conducted a special operation to detain them. The car of one of them - a 20-year-old Sofia resident, was stopped for inspection on "Pop Bogomil" Street. When checking the car, under the rear left seat, the police found 14 polyethylene balls containing grassy mass and 9 bags with a white powdery substance, pink tablets and the amount of nearly 700 leva. From the apartment he lived in, the police officers seized 5 large polyethylene bags with grassy mass and 20 smaller bags containing the same substance, as well as marijuana balls. Two working electronic scales and the amount of over 1900 leva were also seized.

During the investigation, the other drug dealer was also detained - an 18-year-old young man, from whose apartment on Veslets Street 21 bags of white powdery substance, 2 bags of green and pink tablets, a lump of brown substance, another - with powdery substance and a polyethylene bag with a grassy mass, 15 blue pills and two electronic scales were seized. In the meantime, another address on ul. “Zhitnitsa“ was checked, inhabited by an accomplice of the two young men - a 29-year-old Sofia resident.

During the check, the police came across a firearm, a revolver, 22 caliber hidden in a refrigerator and nearly 100 ammunition for it, three electronic scales, 11 license plates for cars, some of which have been declared wanted, and the amount of 6230 leva and 200 euros. The total amount of drugs seized - nearly 700 g of marijuana, about 30 g of cocaine, 60 g of methamphetamine and 100 ecstasy pills. All three men were detained with a police measure for a period of up to 24 hours, pre-trial proceedings for a crime under Art. 354A of the Criminal Code have been initiated in the case.

They are known to the police for drugs, one of them has been convicted. After a report to the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, the two men - aged 20 and 18 - were charged and a prosecutor's order imposed a preventive measure of "detention in custody" for up to 72 hours.

On October 16, forensic officers from the "Narcotics" sector of the Sofia Police Department detained two men - a buyer and a dealer. The 37-year-old was arrested at around 1:00 p.m. in the "Strelbishte" district, and half a gram of cocaine was found on him. Subsequently, on "Knyaz Al. Batenberg" Blvd., the police also detained the dealer - a 20-year-old from Varna, known to the police for theft and hooliganism. The police found a fake ID card in his possession, and in his car, in specially adapted secret compartments under the gear lever and in the ceiling - 15 packages of herbal mass and over 20 packets of white powdery substance and tablets, as well as nearly 1,200 leva.

During the subsequent procedural and investigative actions in a garage used by him in the “Ovcha Kupel“ district, another 15 packages of dry herbal mass, 15 packets of white powdery substance and about 30 tablets were found in a secret compartment in an air duct, and in his apartment - a package of dry herbal mass and a packet of white powdery substance.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case for a crime under Art. 354 A of the Criminal Code. After a report of the materials at the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, a preventive measure of “detention in custody“ was imposed on the 20-year-old. for a period of up to 72 hours.
