“The Dance of the Ages“ is a spectacle that is not just watched – it is experienced. An impressive mix of dance, acrobatics, music and light effects, the production turns the stage into a kind of time machine that takes the viewer from the mythical times of antiquity to the dynamics of the modern world.

In November, the Bulgarian audience will have the chance to immerse themselves in this magic for the first time – The show has already conquered the international stage and has performed in over 40 countries around the world.

A story told through dance

“The Dance of the Ages“ presents human civilization through symbols, legends and legendary figures. The prophet Noah and the biblical Flood, the sage Dede Korkut – the guardian of ancient traditions, Queen Tomiris – the military leader who defeated the founder of the Persian Empire, as well as the Yellow Bride – an image from folk folklore, come to life on stage.

Each episode is built like a painting – with its cultural context, musical atmosphere and unique dance performance.

A vision that impresses

The spectacle combines contemporary dance forms and acrobatics with the richness of Turkish and Caucasian folklore. The impressive costumes - more than 1000 unique models, inspired by museum specimens and traditional ornaments - turn each scene into a true masterpiece. The lighting effects and stage transformations enhance the feeling of magic, and the musical accompaniment smoothly guides the audience through the different eras.

“With this project we wanted to create a universal message – art that can touch people regardless of their culture and age. Dance is a language without borders and through it we show the greatness of history and the power of traditions,“ shares the director and choreographer Serhat Turak.

The troupe behind the show

Over 80 professional dancers, acrobats and musicians take to the stage. Their preparation includes not only classical and modern choreography, but also in-depth study of regional folklore traditions. For greater authenticity, the artists are trained by local masters and historians, turning each scene into a “living canvas“ from the past.

Over the years, the show has been met with ovations all over the world - from the USA and France to Japan and China. Critics often call it a “stage encyclopedia of cultures“.
