Being Jon Bon Jovi at a wedding isn't easy. The frontman recently opened up about a similarly awkward an experience from a few years ago, FOCUS reported.

In 2016, Jon Bon Jovi was invited to the wedding of a friend's son in Florida and was enjoying his vacation until the wedding band decided to perform a cover of "Livin’ on a Prayer“.

A video of the performance was uploaded to YouTube and has so far garnered over 16 million views. The footage clearly shows Bon Jovi's beaming face flinching as singer Lourdes Valentine approaches with the microphone.

Smiling but clearly willing the earth to swallow him up, a reluctant and heartbroken Bon Jovi eventually gives in and takes the stage to perform a jazz-tinged rendition of his 1986 hit.

In a recent interview with Magic Radio on the occasion of Bon Jovi's new studio album "Forever”, John was asked where the most uncomfortable place is to hear the band's songs.

Without hesitation, Bon Jovi replied: "The first thing that comes to mind, which is tragic, is that I was at a friend's son's wedding years ago and the band wanted me to sing and I really didn't want to sing. But I said, "If you're going to sing, pick these songs.“

"And the trumpet player tried to imitate the bass line of "Livin“ on a Prayer“ and the damn band played with him. So instead of a bass playing the famous "boom, boom, boom, boom, boom…“ theme, I have a trumpet. A lone trumpet,' said John, and made a sound of a trumpet.

"I thought if it wasn't my friend's kid, I would have done it to...", the singer muttered in exasperation. "Yes, I had to go upstairs with the trumpeter," he recalls.
