Oscar winner Jamie Foxx: I got a headache, then I don't remember anything... - 1

The actor and winner of the "Oscar" Jamie Foxx revealed details about his mysterious illness, which required him to be urgently admitted to hospital in April last year, reported “ABC”, quoted by NOVA.

Fox says it all started with a "bad headache". The 56-year-old actor spoke about his illness to a group of fans over the weekend in Phoenix, Arizona, in a video that has since gone viral. "On April 11 last year, severe headache, I asked for a pill. I was gone for twenty days. I don't remember anything," says Jamie Foxx.

Fox also tells how doctors treated him when he had to be rushed to hospital. "I was told I was in Atlanta. My sister and daughter took me to the first doctor. They gave me a cortisone injection there. The next doctor said something was going on up there. I won't say it on camera,'' the actor recalls, pointing to his head.

At the time, Jamie Foxx was in Atlanta filming the upcoming movie "Back In Action" for Netflix alongside Cameron Diaz. Then he experienced what his daughter Corinne called a "medical complication," announcing it on social media on April 12.

In July 2023, the star of "Ray" and "Django Unchained" announced that he was refusing to reveal more information because he did not want the public to see him in this way. "I went through something I thought I would never, ever go through,", Fox explained.

"I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear news, but to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me that way. I want you to see me laughing, having fun, having fun, joking, making a movie, a TV show. "I didn't want you to see me with tubes coming out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to survive," the actor added.

In December of last year, Jamie Foxx attended the "Critics Choice" awards. It was his first public appearance since the mysterious health incident that led to his emergency admission to hospital. "It feels good to be here. Now I value every minute," said the actor, who was honored at the ceremony with the "Avangard" prize.

"I saw the tunnel. I didn't see the light,'' he said in his acceptance speech, noting that his health had been life-threatening. The actor added that he wouldn't wish what he went through even on his worst enemy.
