A world ranking rated our nudist beaches - 1

It turns out that more and more people in our country and in Europe are heading to the nudist beaches. Why is this becoming a fad?

“The most fantastic beach in Bulgaria” and “unrepeatable heavenly place”. This is how world media describe the beach in the reserve “Baltata” between the resort "Albena" and the village of Kranevo. Fine, golden sand, wild and untouched nature. The paradise picture is completed by the beachgoers there, who are as natural as the beach because they are naked, reports NOVA.

You can't get there by car. It's a 25-minute walk, and maybe that's why we didn't find many beachgoers, but we did see Jean from Kranevo. "They come all the time, most of them are old people. They used to not break the rules. The bad thing is that there are children here. Come on, it's not a problem for me, but the children have never seen anything like this," says Zhan Boychev.

We continue to our southern Black Sea coast. The further south of Burgas, the more nudist beaches there are. Near Primorsko, beachgoers do not have to worry about nudists. But the lifeguards of the central Burgas beach, who have spoken out against monokinis and want a national ban, do not share the same opinion.

"People of different genders litter our beaches obscenely, which is a sight not only for adults, sometimes children also become a target, which can also create a problem," says the lifeguard of the central Burgas beach, Vasil Zagorchev.

We asked the president of the World Naturist Organization Stefan Dreschens about the norms and ethics of nudism. He hasn't worn a swimsuit in 30 years. Gol walks with his friends even in the park. "Nothing happens to the children. Being young, they don't even realize that there is something wrong with nudity. Academic studies show that children are not harmed in any way, and even see the advantages of such an environment", explains Prof. Stephane Deschenes, naturist.

According to Deschenes, nudist beaches are again gaining popularity even in Bulgaria. The reason, he believes, is that people are tired of seeing perfect bodies on Instagram and accept themselves as they are. "It's like an emotional phobia. And people feel anxious just at the thought of being naked," he adds.

"Once you are naked, then it is difficult to swim with clothes, for example. It is difficult to overcome the psychological barrier. It's an emotional problem to feel awkward naked, not a physical one. Swimwear doesn't hide you in any way, it doesn't keep you warm, it doesn't keep you dry. And they're not hiding anything in any way, it's a psychological effect, because we've been told all our lives that it's shameful and offensive to be naked," he says.

"In a naturist environment, people communicate in a better way. Because we are all the same and we are not ashamed of our bodies. We accept ourselves as we are. We can't pretend our clothes make us something we're not. And we accept other people because everyone is unique. There are no perfect bodies, we are different just like our faces are different", Deschenes added.

According to him, not all of Eastern Europe is conservative. "I have been to Croatia, which accepts nudity extremely normally. And East Germany is very open to nudists. I was in Bulgaria for a short time, but I met great people there too. It depends a lot on the culture, but it's something rational and logical.

Prof. Deschenes supports the idea, but he says it's more important that people are informed about the rules when they decide to let go of their restraints and clothes. "Even when we are dressed, when we meet someone we usually look each other up and down. We can give a compliment. But when we are naked we never stare, we never comment on people's bodies. How a person looks is nobody's business and none of your business. We talk like people, we see each other as individuals. If you want, try it. It doesn't hurt".
