German police detained a suspected stalker of Taylor Swift before the start of the concert of the American superstar in the western city of Gelsenkirchen. Tai is part of the German leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
The man made threats against the singer, a police spokeswoman said early this morning, without giving further details.
Overall, last night's concert went off without incident and was attended by around 60,000 spectators, the statement said.
A police operation related to another incident caused delays as fans exited the venue after the concert.
A 70-year-old man called the police for help, the spokeswoman explained. When officers arrived, they heard the sound of loud bangs, prompting them to close the road leading to the nearby scene.
The man, who was in a mental disorder, was taken to hospital, according to the police. It was not initially clear what the blows were.
Swift, who last toured Germany nine years ago, will be back on stage in Gelsenkirchen tomorrow and Friday.
Gelsenkirchen expects around 200,000 fans to attend the star's three concerts.
