Sicily's regional government has asked the island's airports to stop selling souvenirs with images , linked to the mafia, reported the Italian news agency ANSA, quoted by NOVA.
„Let the sale of souvenirs and trinkets on the theme of "mafia" to end in the shops and commercial establishments of the Sicilian airports”, urged the regional mobility advisor Alessandro Aricho. The official has written to the managements of the operators of the airports in Palermo, Catania, Comiso, Trapani, Lampedusa and Pantelleria.
„Maintaining a dignified image, devoid of the usual negative stereotypes, is without a doubt a firm line to be followed in the place of first arrival of tourists and visitors to Sicily,” he added.
