A huge bonito was caught by professional fishermen in the Black Sea, writes "Bulgaria today".
The giant fish weighs almost 4 kilograms. This was announced by Marijana Hristova on Facebook "Morski Rybolov - Maniatsi". The trophy specimen was caught in the Rusalka beach area near Kavarna. Fishermen call fish, such as this one, that are over 60 centimeters long, with the name turuk.
"Just to brag. "Mermaid" caught on Dalian since this morning - a modest 3,810 kg", shares Hristova and shows a photo with bonito.
This year is shaping up to be quite auspicious for this type of fish in our sea. Already at the end of July, large passages with small bonitos, called gypsies, entered our shores. Here they feed greedily, their main prey being safrids.
That is why they gain weight extremely quickly and by the end of autumn they are already large, greasy and fat. That is why they are so preferred for catching. The typical recipe is to make vejani, but they are also suitable for grilling and canning.
