Matthew Page Damon, better known as Matt Damon, turned 54.

The actor was born on October 8, 1970

Matt Damon's mother was always sure that he would become an actor, just as she was sure that his brother would do art. And while she doesn't burden her children with her wishes, they do become what she imagined.

In 1990 Matt firmly decided to go into cinema. His parents are genuinely unhappy. Although he risks ruining his relationship with them, he decides to follow his passion. Only 1 year later, he already has a leading role in “School Connections”. Very soon he partnered with Danny de Vito. From there on came the big successes in "Courage Under Fire", "Saving Private Ryan", "The Talented Mr. Ripley", etc.

The five movies that defined Matt Damon's acting profile:

1. "Good Will Hunting"

The ordinary, unremarkable man is not ordinary at all if you look at him. This is what "Good Will Hunting" tells about, in which a nondescript janitor in an educational institution solves equations that are beyond the capabilities of math teachers. The role of Hunting for Damon is something like that of Forrest Gump for Tom Hanks - a calling card image.

2. "Ocean's Gang"

The trilogy about the adventures of Danny Ocean began as a remake of the classic crime comedy with Frank Sinatra.

3. Bourne

Matt Damon has never stepped into the role of a superhero and is not present (at least for now) in the Marvel and DC universes. However, he played one of the most iconic action heroes of the beginning of this century - Jason Bourne.

4. "On the other side"

And again a film where identity matters. Matt Damon plays "the mole" of the mob in the Massachusetts Police Department. He is inducted into law enforcement by mob boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson) and aims to be one of them even though he actually grew up on the other side of the law.

5. "The Martian"

It comes out 15 years after "The Shipwrecked" with Tom Hanks. Both films retell "Robinson Crusoe" in modern language.
