A hunter in the United States has died after a bear shot in a tree by another hunter fell on him, the state Department of Wildlife said, reported the Associated Press, quoted by BTA.
The hunting party was chasing the bear when it ran into a tree, the Virginia Department of Wildlife said. When the party retreated from the tree, one of the hunters shot the bear. The animal fell on another hunter, who was standing about 10 feet from the tree.
The department identified the man as Lester K. Harvey, 58, of Phoenix, Virginia. One of the party members administered first aid before Harvey was taken to two different hospitals. He died from his injuries on Friday, the wildlife department said.
