In the east of France, an 11-year-old German boy stabbed knifed his stepfather to protect his mother during a domestic dispute, the prosecutor's office reported, cited by AFP and bTV.
The case will be handed over to German justice due to the fact that the boy is a minor. Both adults are German citizens, according to the French prosecutor's office.
The mother and child, who live in Germany, visited his stepfather, who lives in the French town of Forbac.
According to Deputy Prosecutor Catherine Breitling, the victim had three stab wounds and was hospitalized on Wednesday evening.
His life is not in danger. The child "attacked his stepfather in the context of protecting his mother against the backdrop of a marital scandal and domestic violence," stated Breitling, quoted by BTA.
The boy has already been questioned by investigators and has been handed over to social services. A psychiatrist is also taking care of him.
So far, the stepfather has not been able to be heard.
