The New Mexico State Attorney's Office will not appeal a court ruling that dismissed the manslaughter charge against actor Alec Baldwin, the Associated Press reported.
Special State Attorney Carrie Morrissey has withdrawn her request to appeal the ruling.
The actor's defense called it a "final admission of his innocence".
“The dismissal of the appeal is the final confirmation of what Alec Baldwin's lawyers have been saying from the beginning: this was a terrible tragedy, but Alec Baldwin did not commit a crime“, the agency quoted the actor's lawyers, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro.
On July 13, NBC reported that a New Mexico court had dismissed the manslaughter case against Baldwin. It is noted that Baldwin's lawyers had previously asked the judge to dismiss the case, citing the fact that the prosecution had concealed some facts that could be related to the incident.
