In the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, a bear attacked and mauled three men, while two others were injured, writes the Deccan Herald.
The bear attacked a group of people near the national tiger reserve. The attack took place at dawn in the bushes near the village of Bastua. The victims of the predator are Babu Yadav, Dinbandhu Sahu and Santosh Yadav. Two more injured were taken to a local hospital.
Angry locals beat the predator with sticks and batons. The forest department has launched an investigation.
Attacks by wild animals in this region have become more frequent due to the reduction of natural habitats.
