Expected for our latitudes - the Constitutional Court took brightly colored political decisions on cases of fate for Bulgaria regarding the structure of the state.

This commented on "Facebook" Yevgeny Kanev.

Because I have quite a few lawyer friends here who will jump for “the honor of the epaulet”, I, as a non-lawyer, reason like this.

(1) Repeal of the texts on judicial reform

Here - as far as I understand - the main weighty argument is the will of the Grand National Assembly for the Prosecutor General as an independent state body.

There is absolutely no importance for the judges that this role led Tatarchev singing with bandits, the vengeful Filchev to physical death, Bratinho, the emergence of tzasratura, the misunderstanding Geshev…

That this legal absurdity gave birth to… Peevski.

That Bulgaria has become a mafia state because of the uncontrolled chief prosecutor

This is par excellence what the letter means above the spirit of the law (mens legis).

But where is the politics?

The very fact that after 17 years of suffering and the EU's insistence on judicial reform, the voted proposals of the Venice Commission - yesterday once again approved by the European Commission - show that these are judges devoted not to Bulgaria and their conscience, but of the two camps - of Peevski and Radev. Which on this topic - that Bulgaria has a Russian model of prosecution - are unanimous. And when is a more convenient time than now, when Putin has declared his claims to Eastern Europe?

(2) Remaining changes in the status of the official cabinet - because of parity 6-6

The absurdity is that this was NOT the will of the Supreme Court since 1991, but for 6 of the judges - from the DP and BB camps - this argument is no longer valid. It is important that Peevski maintains his power over the offices, which we see with his comical decisions every day.

And in general - what is the absurdity of the Constitutional Court being silent for months instead of immediately rejecting the amendments - because that was not the will of the Supreme Court since 1991?

Not to be completely pessimistic - one bright note: Radev failed to regain power, and Peevski will soon lose it.
