The Bulgarian Sailing Federation (BFV) is trying to hold a secret reporting and election general meeting in Sofia. It is scheduled for noon on January 18 (Saturday). According to insiders, the goal is to keep the election of the BFV chairman secret, kmeta.bg writes.
Just three days before the meeting at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the clubs were informed via emails by the BFV executive director that, according to the capacity of the hall and the safety and security requirements of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, admission to the meeting would be granted to the presidents and proxies of clubs, the honorary presidents of the BFV, the members of the management and control boards, the chairmen and members of committees at the BFV, and the administrative and technical personnel related to the organization of the meeting.
This actually limits access to the meeting and is unprecedented in recent years, because in this way, even candidates for members of the governing bodies of the Bulgarian Sailing Federation will not be able to enter the hall. An attempt is being made to keep the election of the BFV chairman hidden from the eyes of dozens of sailing figures and sports enthusiasts, after justified doubts about the activities of the current management have emerged in recent months. MMS employees explain that there are no safety regulations and restrictions on access to the hall.
The official information states that the Bulgarian Sailing Federation (BFV) is convening a regular reporting and election general meeting (GM) on January 18 at 12:00 at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MMS). Reports on the activities over the past year must be made at it and a new Management and Control Board must be elected. In addition to the election of a new chairman of the Management Board, another Control Board will also be elected.
On the basis of Art. 25 of the BFV Statute and Art. 27 of the Law on Non-Profit Organizations, in the absence of a quorum, the meeting will be held on the same day at 1:00 p.m. at the same place and with the same agenda, no matter how many members are represented.
