Marseille beat away Lyon 3 :2 in a match of the 5th round of the French football championship, FOCUS reported.

The visitors reached the three points after a brutal drama in added time of the match.

In the third minute of extra time, Lyon made it 2:2 with a goal by Ryan Sherkey.

In the fifth minute of stoppage time, substitute John Rowe scored the victory for Marseille.

The match started badly for the visitors, who were down to ten men as early as the 5th minute after Argentine defender Leonardo Balerdi quickly picked up two yellow cards.

In stoppage time of the first half, Lyon had a great chance to take the lead, but star player Alexandre Lacazette missed a penalty.

The home team took the lead in the 53rd minute, as Croatian international Duje Chaleta-Tsar scored.

In the 69th minute, Paul Lirola scored for 1:1.

In the 82nd minute, Ulises García scored for 2:1 for Marseille, then came the drama in extra time, which ended with the ultimate success for the guests.

Marseille recorded their fourth win since the start of the season, continuing their unbeaten run. The team shares first place with Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco with an equal asset of 13 points each.
