Nikola Tsolov continued his dominance at the "Red Bull Ring" and recorded the best lap in the qualification for the Austrian Formula 3 Grand Prix, BTA reported.. Earlier today, the Bulgarian driver of Campos Racing was also the fastest in practice.
Tsolov set three leading times in Spielberg. He recorded a 1:21.282 at the start of the qualification and remained the fastest after changing to soft compound tires 11 minutes before the end. In the first laps, his time was improved by 1:21.011 minutes by Rafael Camara, but the Bulgarian immediately returned to the lead with 1:20.927 with two and a half minutes remaining.
Tsolov turned another flying lap before the checkered flag and stopped the clock at 1:20.743 minutes for pole position. At the same time, Camara's achievement was improved by more drivers and the Bulgarian's rival for the title remained only in seventh place in the chart.
Second, 0.176 seconds behind, was American Brad Benyavides of AIX Racing, and third was Dane Noah Strömsted of Trident.
