The winner of five Grand Slam tournaments Carlos Alcaraz from Spain commented to the Financial Times, quoted by FOCUS, on his relationship with the four-time Grand Slam winner Yannick Sinner from Italy.
"Negative statements quickly attract a lot of attention – commented the Spaniard. – People really like the idea that there is tension between us. It's just that it sells. But, tennis is an individual sport, we play against the same opponents every week, day after day... With Yannick, with whom we have had incredible battles on the court, we often see each other off it. We talk, sometimes we train together. We smooth out, in general, good, friendly relations... We want to win and fight, but off the court – to be good people and respect each other. That's a whole other story. For me, that's one of the great virtues and values of sport“.
