The elections in Hungary will arouse interest not only in the EU, but also outside the country, and hardly anyone will pay attention to the elections in our country, because in our country the issues, decisions and tasks are decided in advance. Hungary, although a small country, is making great efforts to be a subject of international relations, not an object. I don't know what the benefit of US interference in the elections in Hungary would be. Usually neutral voters react the opposite to external interference. This may bring additional votes to the opposition, but Viktor Orbán's supporters do not need additional encouragement. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the studio “FACTI“ and in the program “Conversation“ the international analyst Prof. Georgi Chankov, lecturer at the UNWE.
“The elections are unpredictable. Comparisons are being made with the previous elections in Romania and Moldova, which were held at the same time. The expectations are that the ruling party will use all possible levers to tip the scales in their favor. The difference is that in Hungary the elections will be controlled by the ruling party. If we have to be extremely optimistic, we will expect fair elections. If we have to be realistic - a person who controls the elections will not miss the opportunity to take the “last ten“, as they say in whiteness. Whether this will be enough to win the game, we will see“, the guest also shared.
“Hungary and Slovakia refused to export energy carriers to Ukraine, and this should have been to be expected earlier, given the active and even extreme diplomacy on the part of Ukraine. We see boundless impudence – personally Zelensky and his emissaries are going around and issuing threats, with the clear awareness that they are being treated with special consideration because they have taken on the role of defender of civilization from the eastern barbarians. Instead of maintaining favorable relations with its neighbors, on whom its energy needs depend, Zelensky is making provocations, and his diplomatic language towards Viktor Orban is under all kinds of criticism. In the conditions of an energy crisis and continuous attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, the country is highly dependent on fuel and electricity supplies from neighboring countries. I don't know exactly what the share of these supplies is in Ukraine's overall energy mix, but the situation is so dire that without them a complete collapse could occur“, also revealed Prof. Georgi Chankov.
