Four people have been arrested for protesting against the state visit of US President Donald Trump to the UK.
According to ITV, the protesters projected a light projection of a joint photo of the American leader and financier Jeffrey Epstein onto Windsor Castle.
The detainees remain in custody and are suspected of “dissemination of malicious messages“. Protesters also projected a photo of Epstein with Prince Andrew, brother of King Charles III, and newspaper clippings claiming Trump's friendship with the businessman.
The US president arrived in the UK on the evening of September 16, an unprecedented second state visit in modern history. On September 17, he will be received by Charles III at Windsor Castle. Trump will hold talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at his Chequers residence on September 18.
Epstein was arrested in New York on July 6, 2019. Prosecutors said they had evidence that between 2002 and 2005, he hosted dozens of underage girls at his Manhattan home, the youngest of whom was 14 years old. Epstein's circle of friends and acquaintances included numerous current and former officials not only from the United States but also from many other countries, including former heads of state, prominent business leaders and showbiz stars. The financier's criminal prosecution in the US was dropped after he committed suicide in his prison cell on August 10, 2019.
