Teenagers detained in two districts of Istanbul, including a Turkmen citizen, were in contact with “Islamic State“ fighters and planned terrorist attacks,” Turkish newspaper “Milliyet“ reported.

”A review of his digital files revealed that he had been in contact with ISIS supporters via encrypted messaging apps. During the search of his computer, files containing instructions for making Molotov cocktails and explosives, instructions for assembling long-barreled weapons, shooting training materials and a large number of documents and videos related to ISIS were found, the newspaper reported.
A court ordered the teenager's arrest.
In July, a 14-year-old Turkmen citizen, D.R., was detained in Maltepe, another district of Istanbul, after he had contact with ISIS* fighters. According to the newspaper, the fighters indoctrinated the teenager and sent him "training materials" on bomb-making and assassination via Telegram.
Videos containing instructions on using drones, making explosives and bombs, attacking cars and carrying out terrorist attacks were also found on the teenager's computer. The court has placed the teenager under house arrest.
The newspaper notes that the teenager who attacked a police station in Izmir in September used the same encrypted messaging apps. Two police officers were killed and two others were injured in the attack.
