Five people were injured in an attack by Russian drones against the Odessa region last night, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) reported, News.bg reports.
According to preliminary data, the drone strikes caused several fires, including in residential buildings and at a gas station.
“A massive fire also broke out on the territory of a port infrastructure site - containers with vegetable oil, vehicles and wood fuel pellets were burning“, the Ukrainian rescue services said in a statement.
According to information from the regional governor of the Odessa region, Oleg Kiper, as a result of the attack more than 30,000 households were left without power.
Dynamics of the National Emergency Service worked through the night to locate and extinguish the fires, as well as to provide assistance to the injured. They were taken to hospital, and according to authorities, their lives are not in danger.
Russian authorities have not officially commented on the attack.
Odessa and its region remain one of the most frequent targets of Russian drone and missile strikes targeting ports, warehouses and energy infrastructure along the Black Sea coast.
