Two suspects were arrested in connection with a shooting in Brussels last Wednesday, Belga news agency reported. Four people were injured in the attack, News.bg reports.
The suspects are aged 16 and 18. The minor is being held in a secure institution, while the adult is being held. The two were arrested shortly after the incident, but the Brussels prosecutor's office announced the arrests only yesterday.
The shooting took place shortly after midnight on October 8. Police patrols heard gunshots and immediately responded to the scene of the incident, where they found four injured people - two of whom are in critical condition. The injured were transported to hospital.
Shortly after the attack, police located the two suspects near the scene of the shooting. They tried to escape on a scooter but were caught after a short chase. They were found to be in possession of a combat weapon.
The 18-year-old was arrested by an investigating judge on charges of attempted murder, illegal possession of a weapon and participation in a gang. The 16-year-old boy was placed in a specialized institution for minors by court order.
