The Communist Party of China has dismissed nine high-ranking generals, NOVA reported.

Observers describe their removal as one of the largest purges in the army command in decades.

Officially, the nine are accused of participating in major abuses and corruption, but according to experts, the dismissals are political. They come on the eve of the plenum of the Central Committee of the party. It determines the path for the country's economic development.
