Preparations for the upcoming summit dedicated to peace in Ukraine continue. This was announced by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in a post on his “Facebook“ profile, News.bg reports.
Orban specified that the exact date of a possible meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet been determined. He added that Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó is currently in Washington.
“When the right moment comes, the meeting will be organized“, the Hungarian Prime Minister noted.
We recall that initially the meeting between Putin and Trump to discuss the possibilities of ending the war in Ukraine was planned to be held in Budapest. However, it was canceled after a phone call between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Earlier today, Trump said he did not want to have a “unproductive meeting” with his Russian counterpart.
