Two passenger planes collided during taxiing at LaGuardia Airport in New York. No injuries were reported, the New York Post reported. The incident occurred Saturday night.

A United Airlines plane arriving from Florida was approaching the bridge when, for an unknown reason, it came into contact with another United Airlines plane, hooking the plane's tail with its wing.

The other plane was stationary at the time of the incident, waiting to be towed to the runway for its flight to Houston.

“We felt the impact while taxiing, but we didn't know it was the other plane until the captain told us,“ a passenger on the plane arriving from Florida told the publication.

There were nearly 350 people on board both planes. The planes were towed to the bridges, and passengers and crew were removed from both planes.

Experts are assessing the extent of the damage. As the publication notes, the incident occurred amid significant delays at LaGuardia Airport. These were caused mostly by strong winds with gusts of up to 70 km/h, but could also be due to staffing shortages due to the ongoing US government shutdown.
