Russian forces continue to advance towards Pokrovsk and are reportedly expanding their logistics to its southern part. Geolocated footage released on November 6 and 7 shows recent advances in the northeastern and eastern outskirts of Pokrovsk, as well as in southern Mirnograd (east of Pokrovsk) and north of Mirnograd.

This is according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Russian forces are carrying out logistics in Pokrovsk primarily using drones.

The Ukrainian 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Forces confirmed on November 7 that Russian forces are attempting to expand their logistics using motorcycles.

The corps reported that Russian forces have reduced the activity and frequency of their movements in Pokrovsk to minimize losses while they await reinforcements. The corps noted that Russian forces had attacked Mirnograd from the east several times without success and assessed that Russian forces were likely to attack the city from another direction in the near future. A Russian military blogger claimed that Russian forces began attacking Mirnograd from the west on November 7.

The cuts at Russia's main tank manufacturer, Uralvagonzavod, show that Russia may struggle to balance the needs of its civilian and defense industries as economic restrictions increasingly worsen Russia's economic performance. The local E1 news agency in Yekaterinburg reported on November 6, citing documents provided by employees, that the plant planned to cut up to 10% of its workforce by February 2026 and impose a hiring freeze.

Employees told E1 that the staff cuts amounted to up to 50% of the total number of employees for most departments. The press service said on November 6 that the manufacturer was "optimizing management and administration costs" and denied reports of a hiring freeze.

The Russian Defense Ministry (MOD) may have reduced priorities for tank production to shift to a more drone-oriented and infantry force that uses light vehicles such as buggies and motorcycles for mobility rather than armored fighting vehicles (ABMs).

The Kremlin also plans to cut its defense budget to 38 percent of total spending in 2026, down from 41 percent in 2025, as it plans to increase the value-added tax (VAT), which is likely to finance defense spending.

Ukraine's defense industrial base is continuing its efforts to develop domestic weapons production and export capacity. Ukrainian presidential adviser Oleksandr Kamyshin said on November 7 that Ukraine aims to be self-financing through profits generated by managed arms exports.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmygal announced on November 7 that Ukraine and Sweden had finalized an agreement to localize the production of Swedish Gripen fighter jets until 2033.

European authorities continue to report unidentified drones in NATO airspace. The Swedish Civil Aviation Administration said there were reports of at least one unidentified drone flying over Gothenburg's Landvetter Airport on the evening of November 6, forcing authorities to divert or cancel more than a dozen flights.

A Swedish police spokesman told Reuters that authorities were investigating suspected aviation sabotage. Belgian authorities temporarily closed Brussels Airport on the evening of November 6 after an air traffic controller at Skagen observed an unidentified drone, marking the third closure of the airport in a week.

The repeated incursions by unidentified drones near European airports and critical infrastructure come amid Russia's intensifying "Phase Zero" campaign to destabilize Europe, undermine NATO cohesion, and create the political and psychological conditions for a potential future Russian war against NATO.
