The Kremlin is currently awaiting the reaction of the American side to the results of Tuesday's talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump's special envoy - Steve Witkoff. This was told to journalists by the Russian leader's foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov, quoted by TASS, BTA reported.
"Now we are waiting for the reaction of our American colleagues to the discussions that took place on Tuesday," Ushakov noted.
The Kremlin advisor said that the negotiations between Putin and Witkoff to resolve the conflict in Ukraine were based on three key agreements reached at the meeting in Anchorage.
In response to a journalist's question, Ushakov said that a phone call between Putin and Trump was not planned.
"No, there is no such plan yet. You see, this is very easy to organize. Do you remember how the meeting in Anchorage was organized, we agreed in just three days. As soon as we have the prerequisites for contacts between the presidents by phone or for a personal meeting, this will be organized quickly enough," Ushakov said.
When asked if there is a next agreed date for negotiations with Witkoff, the Kremlin advisor answered negatively. "No, there will be no meeting with Witkoff," he said. Ushakov did not rule out the possibility of a meeting between Putin and Trump in the near future.
"Such a meeting can take place, of course," he answered a journalistic question. The Europeans constantly make demands that are unacceptable to Moscow and do not contribute to resolving the conflict in Ukraine, Ushakov noted. "To put it mildly, the Europeans do not contribute to the efforts of Washington and Moscow to resolve the conflict in Ukraine," he added.
