The Special Envoy of the US President, Stephen Witkoff, and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, published identical publications on their pages in X regarding the results of the negotiations in Miami.
“Over the past three days, the Ukrainian delegation has held a series of productive and constructive talks with American and European partners“, the statements of the two politicians say.
Witkoff and Umerov noted that Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of the US President, also participated in the negotiations on the American side. In addition to Umerov, the Ukrainian delegation included the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Khnatov. National security advisers from European countries also participated in the discussions “to coordinate the positions of Ukraine, the United States and Europe on the strategic approach“.
The first round of talks between the US and Ukrainian delegations took place in Berlin on December 14 and lasted approximately five hours. The parties continued the talks on December 15, and the meeting lasted approximately two hours. The US delegation included Witkoff and Kushner. Umerov, Khnatov and Volodymyr Zelensky represented the Ukrainian side.
