Russian drone attacks overnight damaged vessels under the flags of Slovakia, Palau and Liberia in ports in Ukraine's Odessa and Mykolaiv regions, the country's Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Kuleba said on Friday, quoted by „Reuters“, reports News.bg.

In recent weeks, Russia has stepped up attacks on the southern Odessa region, with Ukrainian authorities saying the aim is to cut the country off from the Black Sea and sow chaos among the civilian population.

No one was killed in Friday's strikes, Kuleba said in a statement on Telegram, but the attacks led to power outages and damaged elevators and civilian warehouses in Odessa region.

In addition, he added, drones damaged a locomotive and a freight car at the northwestern Kovel railway station, about 60 kilometers from the Polish border.

“Despite deliberate terror by Russia, Ukraine's logistics system continues to function,“ Kuleba said.

Russia has not yet commented on the attacks.
