Venezuela is expanding the extraction of strategic materials to support industrial development and ensure economic stability.
This was stated by the country's acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, on the television channel Venezolana de Television.
“Work on plans to increase the extraction of gold, iron ore, bauxite and other strategic materials necessary for the industrial development of Venezuela began last year with President Nicolas Maduro,“ Rodriguez said.
She noted that the country also has the capacity to earn foreign currency to restore and ensure economic stability.
Rodriguez stressed that while natural resources previously served to enrich oligarchs, they now serve the well-being of the Venezuelan people and the political stability of the country.
On January 3, Washington carried out an operation to capture President Nicolas Maduro. He and his wife, Silvia Flores, were taken to the United States, where they are awaiting trial.
