Russians urgently began delivering satellite Internet terminals to the front - 1

After “Starlink“ was deactivated, the Russians have urgently begun delivering satellite Internet terminals to the front, Ukrinform reported, citing a post on “Telegram“ by the advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Serhiy Beskrestnov, BTA reported.

“We are receiving information about urgent deliveries of satellite Internet terminals to the enemy's frontline positions“, Beskrestnov wrote.

According to him, Russia has several high-speed satellite Internet providers based on the “Yamal“ satellite systems and “Express“.

Beskrestnov explained their distinctive features and how they can be identified. All antennas of these terminals resemble satellite television dishes with a diameter of 60-120 centimeters, oval or round in shape. The antenna can be placed further back from the front line and connected to the front positions via a wireless connection.

Beskrestnov earlier said that the restrictions on the use of “Starlink“ terminals have significantly complicated the coordination of Russian forces and have already affected attacks in certain parts of the front.

The "Starlink" terminals used by Russian troops in Ukraine have been deactivated, Kiev said a few days ago, Reuters reported.

The agency notes that, according to a Ukrainian official, this is a major blow to the military capabilities of the Russian army on the battlefield, which could disrupt its offensive operations.

Russian forces have used thousands of internet connections via the "Starlink" satellite service for more secure communications since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Kiev claims.

Ukraine said it was working with Elon Musk's company "SpaceX" to block the "Starlink" terminals used for Russian drone attacks and is trying to compile a "white list" of all Ukrainian terminals so that Russian ones are blocked. "The terminals included in the "white list" are working, and Russian terminals are already blocked," Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who took office last month, wrote on "Telegram". He added that the list is still being updated.
