Italian Defense Minister Guido Crocetto announced that he was returning from Dubai to Rome on a military flight.
“I am returning to Italy, continuing to deal with the complex situation of yesterday, using all necessary technical means. I will return on a military flight, but after an hour ago, by my own decision, I transferred to the command of the 31st Squadron an amount three times higher than the passenger fare on government flights, which eliminates the possibility of accusations that I am returning on a government flight“, the minister wrote in a statement.
Crosetto was blocked in Dubai due to airspace closures related to the situation around Iran. He was in the UAE with his family. As the minister noted in the publication, no one expected a scenario in which Dubai would become the target of an Iranian response to an attack by the US and Israel.
