US investigators believe the US may have carried out the strike on a primary school in southern Iran, Reuters reports, citing two unnamed officials.
“Military investigators believe it is likely that the US military was responsible for the attack on an Iranian girls' school, but they have not yet reached a final conclusion on the matter and the investigation is not complete“, the report says.
At the same time, the agency's sources did not rule out the emergence of new evidence that would refute US involvement.
Earlier today, the New York Times reported that the strike on the school may have been part of a US air force operation against a nearby naval base of the Islamic Guard Corps.
The media relies on its own analysis based on satellite images.
The “Shajare Tayeb“ school in Minab was attacked on February 28, the day the US and Israel launched a large-scale military campaign against Iran. According to the latest data, 171 schoolgirls were killed.
Tehran called on the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to condemn the brutal attack on the school.
