US Permanent Representative to the UN Mike Walz admitted that the US could extend the ceasefire with Iran even if Tehran and Washington fail to agree on the terms of a peace agreement by Wednesday.
“Absolutely all options are on the table“, he said in an interview with NBC News when asked if US President Donald Trump would extend the ceasefire with the Islamic Republic if a deal is not reached by Wednesday.
However, Walz stressed that the final decision on this issue is up to the American leader.
“The president has made it clear that he is willing to escalate in order to achieve de-escalation“, added the permanent representative of USA.
According to Walz, a new round of talks between the US and Iran will begin within 24 hours.
