The operation to liberate the Kursk region has become an unprecedented example of the struggle to protect peace and sovereignty.
This was stated by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the opening ceremony of the Memorial Museum of Military Deeds in the Overseas Military Operation held in Pyongyang on April 26, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
„Comrade Kim Jong-un noted the strategic significance of the operation to liberate the Kursk region, during which the armies of two countries - the DPRK and the Russian Federation, committed to the ideal of justice - fought side by side in one trench to protect peace and sovereignty. He also mentioned the unparalleled valor, mass heroism, unwavering fighting spirit and noble selflessness that the best sons of the Korean people displayed in bloody battles, setting an example of military cooperation,“KCNA wrote.
The DPRK leader called the overseas military operation “an unprecedented struggle in history, waged by soldiers who responded with their conscience and moral authority to the orders of the party and the motherland“. He stressed that the opening ceremony of the museum will be “recorded as a brilliant page in history as an event that gave absolute permanence to the dignity and honor of the Korean state“.
Kim Jong-un expressed confidence that the museum will be known throughout the world for the steadfastness and sense of sacred mission of the participants in the overseas military operation, and that their heroic deeds will be remembered forever. He noted that the fallen soldiers "at the cost of their blood defended the dignity and well-being of the fraternal people, confirmed the strength of military partnership and allied, fraternal relations between the two countries, and set an example of honor, dignity and glory worthy of the respect of all future generations."
According to the prime minister, the museum will forever remain a national treasure of the DPRK and a monument to the great union, embodying the will and strength of the peoples of the two countries striving for justice and peace.
The agency notes that the museum will forever preserve the memory of the ideological and spiritual superiority, mass heroism and courage shown by the Korean army during the liberation of the Kursk region of Russia.
