Ukraine's energy system is back to normal after several power plants were damaged by Russian airstrikes this week. Russian authorities have evacuated thousands of children from the border Belgorod region, BNR reports.
The current regime has been canceled in all six areas, where it was applied at the maximum load of the network in the evening hours. In Kharkiv region alone, a schedule for temporary power outages is still in effect today for about 120,000 consumers. Restoration works in the area continue, Ukrenergo reported.
Dozens of missile and air strikes have been carried out by Russian forces against Ukrainian army positions in a number of regions over the past 24 hours, as well as nearly 100 attacks with rocket launchers. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, there are dead and wounded civilians.
On the Russian side, power outages are reported in several settlements in the border Belgorod region after Ukrainian strikes. There is no information about casualties.
5,000 children have been evacuated from the district after weeks of cross-border shelling, according to district governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. The children who remained in areas near the border, including in the city of Belgorod, will study remotely next month.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned in an interview with the "Washington Post" that his country will be forced into a gradual retreat if it does not receive the promised military aid from the United States.
"Without American support, we don't have air defense, we don't have Patriot missiles, we don't have silencers for electronic warfare, we don't have 155 mm artillery shells, Zelensky pointed out.
