Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Jerusalem on Sunday to demand the release of some 130 hostages still in Gaza after the “Hamas” on Israeli territory exactly six months ago, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
About 1,200 people were killed in the attack and 253 were taken hostage, including children, the elderly, civilians and soldiers. About half of them were released as part of a short-term ceasefire agreement in late November.
Talks on a new truce that would include the release of dozens more hostages resumed in Egypt on Sunday.

While parents of hostages called on Sunday's demonstration for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to do more to return their loved ones, speakers at the rally stuck to apolitical messages and focused on their pain and the need to quickly return their loved ones home.< br />
According to a poll released Sunday by Israel's N12 News, 56 percent of respondents said the government was not doing enough to return the hostages, and 39 percent said the opposite.

Some of the demonstrations organized by the groups that led the mass protests in 2023 are calling for new elections to be held. Polls conducted after the attack by “Hamas” on October 7, show that in an election Netanyahu would be defeated by the centrists.
