The German airline "Lufthansa" announced yesterday that after a careful assessment it has decided to temporarily suspend all flights to and from Tehran "due to the current situation in the Middle East", Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"We are constantly monitoring the situation in the Middle East and are in close contact with the authorities. The safety of our customers and crews is a top priority for Lufthansa, an airline spokesman told Reuters.
Meanwhile, Iran's semi-official news agency "Mehr" first reported on the X social network, citing Iran's defense minister, that Iran was closing the airspace over the capital Tehran for military exercises, and later withdrew its message, according to Reuters. In a new post on the same social network "Mehr" denied having published such information.
