The United States announced today new sanctions against Iran, aimed at the production of drones, after the Iranian strikes against Israel over the weekend, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The US Treasury Department said the sanctions cover 16 Iranian individuals and two entities involved in the country's drone production, including the production of engines for Shahed drones, which Tehran used in its April 13 attack. .
The ministry added that the sanctions also affect five companies from several countries that provide components and raw materials for the production of steel from Khuzestan Steel Company, one of Iran's largest steel producers, or those that buy finished product from the Iranian company.
The ministry's statement said the sanctions list included three affiliates of the Iranian car manufacturer Bahman Group, which US officials say financially supports the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Meanwhile, Britain announced today in an official statement that it is imposing Iranian sanctions on individuals and organizations linked to Iran's military and missile and drone production.
The British sanctions include the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces and the KHIR Naval Forces because of the Iranian attack on Israel at the weekend.
The new British sanctions target a total of 13 organizations and individuals, the statement said.
