Former US President Donald Trump, who is fighting again for the state's highest office, spent $4.9 million on legal fees in March and now may not have enough money to pay lawyers, Bloomberg reported, citing financial statements from the Trump campaign.

It is noted that $6.8 million remains in the accounts that the former US leader used to pay lawyers, which could force Trump to look for new sources of funding. For now, he's paying his legal fees thanks to the political action committee Save America, which can accept donations from donors. Since January 2023, Save America has spent more than $62 million in legal fees.

The Republican National Committee has already refused to pay Trump's legal costs, the publication adds. The former head of the United States may try to raise more money from his donors or use his own fortune, Bloomberg added.

Trump has been implicated in several cases, including storming the Capitol, possession of classified documents and falsifying financial documents.

In January of this year, a jury in New York returned a verdict according to which Trump must pay $83.3 million to the writer Elizabeth Jean Carroll, who accused the former American leader of harassment and defamation. In February, a court found Trump guilty of fraud in the valuation of the assets of the Trump Organization and ordered him to pay about $454 million, including interest.
