The US will begin sending new weapons and equipment to Ukraine this week, US President Joe Biden said, after and the aid package for Kiev was finally approved in the American Congress, reported France Press, quoted by BTA.
The Senate of the US Congress approved the aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan with a convincing majority, reported Reuters.
The legislation will be sent to Biden for his signature.
The $95 billion aid package was supported by 79 senators, with 18 voting "no".
The aid was approved by the House of Representatives on Saturday. The package provides funds for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan and US partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
"I will sign the bill and address the American people as soon as the bill reaches my desk,'' Biden said in a statement released by the White House.
